::frozen::
Ice cream has not been an active part of my household for some time, mostly due to my inactive freezer. The freezer was attached to the vintage model of refrigerator in my apartment, light blue interiors, sweet little egg compartment and nice glass shelf.
Last night I came home to a newer refrigerator, a working freezer, and lots of loud hum from this new addition. My edibles suddenly are suddenly awash in light (the previous fridge had no bulb) and look sparse, unsituated and lonely.
The weather now feels too cold for ice cream. I listen to the hum, the szhzhzhzhzh, and imagine stocking the big new working compartment with food to hold me over for winter, and trays of cubes ready to be deposited in glasses with amber fluid, sparks.
