White Earth Land Recovery Project: Tasty!
We hosted brunch two Sundays ago and my husband-to-be came upon a very ingenious discovery: the amazing pancake batter we've been using--here at home, and in Joshua Tree, where it travels with us in the cloth grocery bag--tastes even better with soy yogurt in place of milk in the recipe.
Wild Rice Pancake Mix is an offering from the Native Harvest Online Catalog and White Earth Land Recovery Project. From their website:
The mission of the White Earth Land Recovery Project is to facilitate recovery of the original land base of the White Earth Indian Reservation, while preserving and restoring traditional practices of sound land stewardship, language fluency, community development, and strengthening our spiritual and cultural heritage.
Besides their amazing pancake mix, they offer gift baskets, coffee, crafts, soup mixes, and fry bread mix.
Right now, in the kitchen on the third floor of El Sereno in Koreatown, we've run out of our stash of pancake mix. We can't wait to try more of their products!
